Within Tewksbury Township lies the historic town of Oldwick, originally known as New Germantown. Settled by German immigrants in the mid 18th century, Oldwick boasts the state's oldest Lutheran church in continuous use. Several buildings in town date back to the early 1800's. Just north of town is the Cold Brook Preserve, 296 acres of orchards and pastures. Part of the land is still being farmed.
