Glen Gardner was originally an iron mining town. The general store in town was built in approximately 1806 and the Glen Gardner Inn, dates back to 1750 and still carries the original liquor license, dated 1800. Voorhees Park located in Glen Gardner sports over 500 acres. Also located in the Park, you will find the New Jersey Astronomical Association's observatory.
