Franklin Township lies in the center of Hunterdon County and is comprised of several small villages, including Pittstown, Quakertown, and Cherryville. The Quakertown Meeting House has been in use as a meeting house since it was established in 1720. A great deal of Franklin Township land has been set aside for farmland under the Farmland Preservation Act.
