Besides being the county seat since 1785, two-thirds of the structures in Flemington are listed in the State and National Historic Registers. Built in the late 1820's, you can visit the Court House where the Lindbergh trial was held in 1935. Across the street is the Union Hotel, where the reporters who covered the trial stayed. It was once a stage stop on the New York to Philadelphia run. Flemington is also home to more than 100 discount outlet stores that draw shoppers from all over the Northeast. This historic town also hosts the annual Flemington Fair, the state's biggest and oldest, held around Labor Day.
