HomesNJ.com is a project that has been developed in conjunction with the West Essex Board of REALTORS®. It is based on a very simple premise, which is, to provide a marketing vehicle that will promote the New Jersey Real Estate Boards and their members.
Why is Homes N.J. different than other national/local internet Real Estate web sites? Unlike other national and local internet Real Estate services, our approach is built upon the idea that a Real Estate board office lives by it's membership and the people it's members serve. Therefore, the boards understand the strengths and specialties of their members and communities. HomesNJ.com is a collaborative effort by all participating Boards of REALTORS that allows board members to direct the content and depth of information within that board's area of the web site. What if a board does not own an MLS? Even though one of the site's useful features is searching for a property, all boards wishing to participate will get the same benefits. If the membership of a board without an MLS would like their listings advertised on Homes N.J., we have developed several methods of automatically entering and updating the property information. We consider each board to have the same goal in mind. That is, to help their members become even more successful and by promoting the valuable services that their members have to offer. What is a HomePage Site? An Internet HomePage is the first web page someone sees when they visit a web site. A HomePage site goes much deeper than just a single page. For example, a HomePage site on Homes N.J. starts with a minimum of three web pages. These pages include:
What are some of the benefits of an Real Estate office/agent HomePage?
What kind of advertising will I receive for my HomePage site? Every office and agent that has a HomePage site is listed with over 200 Internet directory and search sites. In addition to the online advertising, several printed ads are released in various New Jersey publications promoting Homes N.J. We encourage all offices and agents that have HomePage sites to submit press releases to all local publications promoting their individual HomePage site. What is an Internet directory or search engine? Internet directories and search engines are the "Yellow Pages" of the Internet. You can type in certain keywords, or click on a category such as Real Estate, and a listing will be displayed with all the Web sites that fit your criteria. What about advertisements in publications? We recommend utilizing as many advertising vehicles as possible. This includes both paper and electronic advertising. To increase your exposure and your advertising return, all your print ads should include a footer referencing your HomePage site.

How will this benefit my membership?

What would my Home Page site address be? The Home Page site address would read like this: http://homesnj.com/{homepagename}. For example: http://homesnj.com/stanton. Note that this will only work if you have signed up for a Home Page site on HomesNJ.com. If you linked from another site, your address would be whatever it was when you linked it. What is the turnaround time for photos to appear on my Home Page site? Usually, we get photos scanned and placed onto the Internet within one week from the day that we receive them. (Return to QUESTIONS)
What if I have suggestions or criticisms about the site? The web site was developed for Board members, by Board members. All web sites are dynamic, living, breathing entities. The only way to keep consumers returning is to provide a useful, easy to use, and attractive environment. We welcome all suggestions and criticisms.
